[heɪ jɑɫ]

I’m a PhD candidate in Linguistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

I’m a phonetician and phonologist whose work incorporates both lab and field methodologies. I do fieldwork in Vanuatu, and my dissertation research is an Electromagnetic Articulography study of Georgian.

I’m from Georgia, but not that one.

I love producing speech sounds, perceiving speech sounds, and exchaning meta-speech sounds with people!
